Yet another love story

It was a weekend and she had come to his place to chill out. They made plans to go to an amusement park nearby. They had so much fun together and he even taught her swimming at the pool.

After so much time with him she lost her heart to him and wanted to be always near him. But she did not voice her thoughts loud fearing a negative answer from his end.

They settled for a good lunch at a beach front restaurant.  Since it was open air and the aroma of food was so loud, crows started crowning them and disturbed them from eating in peace.

He was using all means to drive them away but could not.  Finally they had to get inside to finish the food.  After the food, they were strolling the beach when he held her hands and said,  'Please remind me to make proper arrangements for food when we have our wedding at the beach soon.'

She took a whole minute to understand and when she did she hugged him hard with a heart pounding louder than the beach waves.

Green and Red

Ping
He turned from his laptop at the notification sound of a WhatsApp message on his cell.  It was from her. The link to the latest post on her blog.  Another love story. It was cute sweet and felt good.

But he could not bring himself to compliment her.  He loved her so much and was very possessive. He could not accept her thinking of a love story other than theirs.  Though broad minded,  he did not want her to imagine a romantic story and write.

He thought maybe he lost her love and she wanted something more in him.  Maybe that's why she imagines what she misses and writes. He decided to talk to her about it.

That night he decided to open up.  She was busy cleaning the mess in the dining table when he came behind and hugged her.  'I read your story today. It was great. But I think you should switch  to humor.  I  am sure you will do well.'

She looked confused and said no. He continued, 'see I feel I have to buy my love for you back. It feels you live in a imaginary world with a love that I failed to give you.  I cannot take it anymore.'

She returned back and hugged him harder and said, 'I have already given my heart to you.  It's yours for keep. You don't have to buy it back. My stories were the only way to buy you back from your busy schedule. I always notice you though you don't show it. Whenever you go green with envy, my heart goes red with joy that you are still possessive on me'.

His comment on her posts is the first thing that happens whenever she posts something from that day on.

Episode 8

King Ravi Varma was visibly upset. He could relate the pain Rajarajan felt on losing his son as he himself has lost all his 3 sons on birth.  The crown prince Selvan is the biological son of Thondaiman and he had adopted him.  Though he loved him dearly he could not help but long for a baby he fathered. The royal astrologer had precldicted a son for him so was waiting anxiously.

He started spending much of his time in the royal temple where he felt peaceful. Thondaiman came to visit him. He was so loyal to the king that he cannot see  him sad for a long time.

He arranged for a pilgrimage which he guessed would lift the kings mood.  He offered to accompany the king. Off went the king with the Queen Meenakshi, Commander in chief Thondaiman and his adopted son Selvan.

On the way they decided to camp for the night.  All arrangements were made and they were discussing about the deity they were going to worship when a soldier announced the coming of Rajarajan to their camp.

King Ravi Varma got perplexed. He did not know how to react.  He asked the soldier to let him in. The teary faced physician entered the tent and he did not have any pleasantries to begin. He came to the point.

'I am sorry by the way I shouted at you.  I wish to get back to my duties.  May I? '

The king was relieved beyond words.  Not only the physician had forgiven him but also wished to continue in his service. This was complete forgiveness.  He was happy.  He said he was more than happy to see him back at the palace.

Rajarajan excused himself and went to the place where the food was being cooked for the royalties.  He went inside and saw a big jar of tomato soup made specially for the king. He knew the king would drink it before every meal. He mixed a powder in it which he hid in a punch in his cummerbund.

He started imagining the consequences and felt insanely happy. He was so mad that he failed to listen the words uttered by King Ravi Varma in a bit loud voice than usual,  'Serve my favorite soup to all of us.  We will start celebrating my peace with my favorite food', to which everyone obliged.

PRESENT DAY
Raj tried all known ways to bring his dad back but failed. He finally gave in.  Tears poured uncontrolled. He could not believe his father is no more.  The servant had called the police.  They arrived and started asking questions.  He could not answer anything properly in grief.

The police decided to leave him alone for now. They waited for the forensic people to arrive. As they sat waiting,  they received a call in the landline. It was Prof . shanmugam.  He was crestfallen on hearing Srinivasan's death.

He left the receiver on the hook and looked at his assistant Babu and said,  'our patron was murdered a while ago. Now how are we supposed to work further without funds'. He looked sadly at the roll of parchments he held which read 'Map to Thondaiman' s grave which holds all my treasure ' in ancient Tamil.

Life at first sight

After a tiring day at office, she was making her way to her room on a Saturday evening. She was asked to attend an extra training on a weekend to acquire credits. Her friends were not in the list of participants and she felt that was the worst day in her life. That being a weekend even the food courts were not functioning.

‘Excuse me. She turned at the voice of a man. A handsome young charming guy was smiling at her and asked her whether she knew if the training got over. She didn't hear him. She felt something. He repeated.
She composed herself and said yes. He was waiting for his cousin who happened to attend the same training session. Since it was already over he said he will get back to his room and wait for her call. And his room was very near to hers.

They started walking together back. Introducing themselves she found him a senior person in her company and he is just staying there for a day. He offered to give her any sort of advice and help if required and shared his company mail id.

They parted ways and went on to their rooms. She couldn't think of anything else but him for a long time. She couldn't understand why. She just wanted to talk to him again. She thought of mailing him on Monday about something at office and try to get to know him more.

She was so lost in this happy thought when she was rudely disturbed by a message. It was him. He said he got her number from the company's directory and just wanted to say hi.

Her heart skipped a beat. She replied back. They started texting each other. He was actually on his way back to his workplace and won't be available here for a long time.
They texted without a halt till midnight. By then both had grown so fond of each other and not wanting to let each other go. He texted her, ‘I think I am in love with you and can't stay without you. ‘

Though jumping in joy, she texted back, ‘I don't know if I believe in love. He texted back, ‘ It's my life that I saw in your eyes and if there's anything true in this world,i would say it's our love at first sight. ‘

Episode 7

A loud ambulance siren brought Vinoth back to his senses.  The events that occurred in the day had been very much unexpected and tiring. As he sat in the park bench,  his hand still clutched the surgical knife that slit Dr. Srinivasan. He had thought he got better of his temper but now he realized the fact.  His temper was very much the same.

Some time earlier, Raj rushed Vinoth to get the medicine when his dad Srinivasan did not turn up for a long time. When he tried to locate the doctor in the big house,  he found a door open and peeped in. When he found the picture of Rajarajan there he could not  control his anger. He realized he was standing in the house  of his descendents.

He wanted revenge. He saw that the doctor was in a hurry. He followed him and found that the doctor found his identity. He could take it no more. In a rage he killed the doctor. And ran towards the exit as far as he could and found this off beaten Park to sit and decide what to do next.

When he closed his eyes series of events crossed his mind in a flash. He could see Rajarajan laughing hysterically, King Ravi Varma's elegant pose, and the tears in the monarch's eyes when they met last.

No matter how hard he tried he could never forget any of them. He saw his hand. It was still holding the bloody knife but the fingers missed the kings signet ring. ' I cannot let them have that ring. I will get it back no matter how hard it is'

Dr. Srinivasan's residence.

His father's loud screams brought Raj running. He was completely dumbstruck.  Though he was a doctor and handled patients in pool of blood before this was different. He could almost feel the pain his father had. He did not know what to do.

He rushed to treat his dad.  He carried him with all his strength downstairs to the consultation room where he kept all his medicines. His father was waving at him and wanted to tell something. He could hardly apprehend what he was telling.  As he lay his father on the examination table he clutched Raj's hand tightly and beckoned him to listen.

Raj knelt down to match his father's lips on his ears as Srinivasan whispered ' It is not Ravi Varma.  It is Thondaiman'.  And breathed his last.

The cold truth

'I know what I am doing. Shut your mouth and go to sleep.' He shouted and went to sleep himself. She tried her best to convince him but could not. She knew that was a bad decision of him and he would repent it soon. She could not do anything except pray it should not go wrong.

Sometime later she could feel him shiver. His breathing got course and bit loud. Though she expected this she got worried.  She did not want to leave his side. She tossed and turned and finally decided to do the hardest thing.

She got up from  the Cosy bed and switched off the ac in the mains after hiding the remote under her pillow.

The Empty Diaries

She fell with a big thud on the ground. It was the third time this month he slapped her. He was very short tempered but loved his wife truly. He tried his best not to show his anger on her but end up doing the same always. Almost everyday there was something for him to lose his temper no matter how hard she tried.

It continued till their tenth anniversary. After the small celebration at a nearby restaurant they slept blissfully.  Morning dawned and she was still at bed which was an unusual sight. He tried to shake her awake. Her body was cold.  He was scared out of his wits.

He called a doctor nearby who declared her dead.  After much moaning he started on his usual works. People advised him to dispose of her things. He started to clean her wardrobe.  There were a long list of diaries. He knew she wrote journals everyday but never had the urge to read it.

Now out of curiosity he started to open one and sat down to read.  It was blank except for the dates and it looked like it was dried. All diaries were the same. One had red dried stain which he identified as her Sindhoor.

Suddenly it hit him hard.  She had been crying her heart out to the diary though did not have the heart to record it in words. There were 10 blank diaries for each of her married life with him. He was completely broken. A tear fell from his eyes on one of the pages. The diary took it in to wash all her dried tears.
