Lent Lesson 14 : DISCRETION

Discretion - Speaking or behaving in such a manner to avoid conflicts.

The situation was getting tense. They both started arguing. He paused in the middle. He wondered what will he gain if he continues to argue. He may or may not win the argument. At the end he will be exhausted and may end up losing his acquittance with the other guy.

He said, "Am sorry. I do not know the facts correctly. Will check and let you know. Let's not spoil our mood on this." And shook his hands with the other guy and left. The latter was satisfied for a while after which he verified the facts and found he was wrong. He felt bad and apologized. Their relationship grew even stronger and closer.

Jesus said to His father, "Forgive them father for they know not what they are doing" as his last words on the cross. "He had intense agony and complete reason to hate the entire mankind and vanquish everything. But he choose not to.

He choose the right words to convince the Heavenly Father not to relieve the mankind of his mercies. We can never match Jesus in this regard but can try our best to use the right words and action as to never hurt anyone or end up fighting.
